ACTIONS PROFESSIONAL ADVISORS CAN TAKE
- Sign on to partner with Leave a Legacy.
- Sign on to support Leave a Legacy financially.
- Familiarize yourself, your office partners and staff with the Leave
a Legacy of Western Washington (LALWW) program.
- Run a series of articles about LALWW in any newsletters or regular
communication you have with clients. Include any testimonials from
your clients about their giving.
- Mail free LALWW brochures to your clients with your personally signed
cover letter.
- Use the LALWW logo in all materials about gift planning.
- Add a line asking about interest in charitable giving to any estate
planning publication.
- Offer complementary half-hour consultations for those interested
in legacy giving.
- Respond promptly to any inquiries with a packet of information.
Set aside time to follow up with clients about charitable giving.
- Assist in data gathering to help assess community-wide LALWW effectiveness
in changing behavior.
- Share LALWW where you play or pray, and with family and friends.
- Join our LALWW Steering Committee and help raise community awareness!
- Volunteer on a Leave a Legacy committee to engage other estate planning
professionals in the LAL campaign.
- Join the LAL Speakers Bureau to promote legacy giving.
GENERAL ACTIONS TO TAKE
- Join the Washington Planned Giving Council to learn more about gift
planning and network with nonprofit and allied professionals.
- Encourage nonprofits with whom I volunteer to join LAL and engage
in planned giving activities.
- Serve on a charitable board or gift planning committee to assist
charities in securing donations.
- Make your own legacy gift to the charities of your choice.
