FUTURE PLANNED GIVING EVENTS

• Incorporate the "Leave a Legacy " message into your development plan. We urge you to promote charitable and planned giving through one of the following: 
• Estate Planning Seminar: Host an estate or financial planning seminar, wills clinic, or cluster of small home gatherings, to share estate planning information. Feature a panel of estate planning experts (CPA's, attorneys, financial planners), and include a speaker from our Speakers Bureau. 
• Direct Mail: Use our (free) brochures as part of a planned giving appeal/education mailer. Within 3 days of their recent mailer going out, Catholic Community Services received over 75 response cards, and a donor advised them of a $186,000 planned gift! 
• LALWW Speaker: Schedule a LALWW speaker (30 min. presentation) for your board, endowment committee or other target group. 
• Video: While supplies last, we will send you our Jean Enersen-hosted 7.5 minute video, a $9.99 value, for free. It is short and poignant and is a great intro or close to a variety of gatherings, including board or committee meetings, or any gathering of donors and volunteers. All of your donors will benefit (and so will you!) by knowing more about gift planning, not just seniors or the rich and famous. Go to our "Forms Page", complete and submit it, and we will mail the video out to you. 
• Press: Publish a Leave a Legacy article in your newsletter or website, with specific planned giving information inviting gifts to your organization. Download (copy & paste) our "Press Release", edit in your own "Legacy Story" and photos, and submit to your local newspapers and magazines. 
• Heritage or Silver Society - Celebrate those who have made a planned gift, create a recognition club for these special donors; invite them and other targeted donors in for Danish & coffee, ice cream - whatever your budget and time will allow. 
• Donation Reply Cards/Envelopes: Invite people to self-identify that they have named your agency in a bequest or other planned gift. Add a line to your reply cards and envelopes, "I want to know more about planned giving and how to leave a legacy." Include the Leave a Legacy logo as a visual reminder, and designate someone to contact them personally.
